Art Gilbreth is a true Oregonian, born in The Dalles, Oregon. Art lived in San Diego, California for a while, but moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1973 where he worked as office manager for Lorenz Realty. However, he soon began to miss the sunshine and remembered how much he had enjoyed the town of Bend when he worked on the natural gas pipeline in 1961. While revisiting Bend, he discovered Sunriver, applied for an agent position with Sunriver Realty and has been with the company ever since 1976!
Art has two sons and a daughter, and five grandkids. Art's wife Susan was a citizen of Sunriver before Art, and they are both very active in the community. Art's been playing Santa Claus for the past 17 years for his clients and friends--he especially enjoys watching the faces of the kids and their reactions as "Santa" appears out of the snow onto the back deck on Christmas Eve!
Art enjoys everything about Central Oregon: Hiking, fishing, horseback riding, biking, tennis, riding his Harley with friends, but most of all he enjoys the friends he has made while working in Sunriver and Bend. "The people who live here are our biggest asset--it's not something tangible that can be sold, but something intangible that must be experienced. In Sunriver the welcome mat is always out."
