Why did you come to work for Sunriver Realty?
I was looking for a real estate company offering the most support to its brokers with a very professional environment. Sunriver Realty exceeds both of these expectations while demonstrating an established, highly respected reputation in the central Oregon community. When I mention Sunriver Realty to people, good things are said and that is exactly what I wanted.
What do you love about your job?
The opportunity to help people. I love helping people. I really do. Nothing is more satisfying to me than helping someone acquire or sell real estate. But a lot of brokers can do that. When I help them with the real estate process, I want to help them in a way that leaves a smile on their face during the transaction, after the transaction, and every time they think or talk about the transaction. People can always use another reason to smile and each day I have the opportunity to help them smile.
What are some of your areas of industry expertise or preference?
My expertise is both in residential and commercial real estate. When soeone needs help with a residential transaction, that is my preference. When they need help with a commercial transaction, that is my preference. I have expertise in both and my love of real estate and desire to help people enable me success in both arenas.
How do you enjoy Central Oregon?
By experiencing the setting: mountains, rivers, lakes, climate, and people, with my wife Jill and my three children Madison, Braeden, and Brody. We sled in the snow at the mountain, ride bikes on the paths in Sunriver, fish the Deschutes with my brother Paul, play at all the wonderful parks with my brother Mark, his wife and two children, float the Deschutes, swim in the Cascade Lakes in the summer, and last but certainly not least, we golf as much as we can. To top it all off, we take the kids to see grandma and grandpa at their home on the tenth hole of the Woodlands golf course.
What's a valuable lesson you learned (in real estate)?
All people have different needs and different tastes. If you fail to allow the customer’s needs to shape the transaction, the transaction will be very difficult. The bigger tragedy is that they will not be getting the service they deserve and you will not be getting the smiles you deserve.
